Ravioli & Chicken Marinara

Seems these days that the big rave is eating better, which don't get me wrong I think is a wonderful thing. My husband and I both have completely changed our diets and starting working out, we have been doing this for a few months now and we have seen some great results. However, I noticed that I blow it most of the time at lunch time, because lunch time is when you go out with your co-workers and even when you arrive and you plan on eating healthy you hear what everyone else is ordering and decide that you can start your diet tomorrow... that this one more lunch won't hurt you any. Well it really defeated all the work I was doing, so I have decided to try and stay in the office Monday thru Thursday and only have Friday as my going out day. Now it is time to determine what foods are good and which ones are not so good. All of these are low in calories because I watch my calories. Also, if you have tried something that I have not listed then please tell me and I would love to go out and try it.

Today's choice was this Healthy Choice Top Chef meal, it was a Ravioli & Chicken Marinara. I have to say that it was okay... not the greatest that I have eaten, but not the worse either. The chicken was good, the ravioli's were good but a little chewy and probably what is going to be the part that fills you up. However for my taste it was too much tomato. If you love tomatoes then you will love this dish. The tomatoes out powered any other flavor. Also, this dish really needed a little salt and pepper. But overall it was ok. Probably not something that I will buy again, but that should not stop you for trying it out.

Now this was pretty filling for such a small lunch dish and it did only have 260 calories, plus 21g of protein, which is great for those needing lots of protein. I have not determined just yet how long this dish will keep you full. I have learned with many of these lunch size dishes that you tend to need a afternoon snack to tide you over until dinner time. That is not a bad thing, just be prepared for it. Diet experts state that it is healthier and better for you to have smaller meals and snacks, but you have to choose the right snack. Don't blow all your good deed from lunch on your afternoon snack.

Well that is my opinion for today’s lunch. Please feel to share any of your thoughts with me, and I will be back again tomorrow with something new. Until then have a great evening!
